Drug rehab is a wonderful treatment opportunity for those who need help overcoming a drug or alcohol problem. A quality program can help individuals stop using and learn positive life skills that they can continue to use for the rest of their life. But for many people who go through rehab, the benefit of an extended care program following their standard rehab is just as important as completing the original program itself.
Extended Care offers individuals with severe addiction issues a unique opportunity to continue receiving support and guidance following a completed drug rehab program. For many, it is relatively easy to remain clean and dedicated to this new lifestyle while drug rehab is ongoing.
But once the program is complete and life returns to normal, temptations begin to arise and the user finds him or herself truly tested. Relapse prevention and coping skills education fill in the gaps of what to do when temptation arises. This is when extended care becomes a wonderful tool for maintaining sobriety.
Many quality drug rehab programs offer extended care to their guests to help minimize the risk of future relapse. The need for continued support is nothing to be ashamed of. Your addiction did not develop overnight, so it is to be expected that recovery is an ongoing process.
If you or a loved one needs help beating an addiction to drugs or alcohol, there is effective treatment available. A quality program should address you as an individual. It should take into consideration your personal history with addiction, as well as any co-occurring mental disorders that may be fueling your addiction.

In conjunction with our existing infection control policies, Beaches Recovery and Tides Edge Recovery are closely monitoring CDC updates on the impact of the coronavirus as they are released. We would like to take the time to inform you of our facility’s preventative measures we have put in place at both of our facilities. Our goal is to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.
1.All staff has received infection control and prevention training.
2. Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidelines have been provided.
3. Patient care supplies such as disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizers are being monitored and utilized. Hand-outs have been provided detailing general principles such as hand washing, covering your nose and mouth when coughing, and refraining from touching your eyes and/or face.
4. Screening protocols have been enhanced such as a review of travel history, and current health status in an effort to reduce those with flu like symptoms from admitting to our facilities.
5. Visitation policies will continue to be reviewed at least twice a week.
